From October 6 to 7, the "F✦Forever City of Stars · Galaxy Crowning" limited-edition Beijing concert series kicked off with two consecutive nights at the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest). Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Vic Chou, and Mayday’s Ashin joined forces for a brand-new collaborative performance, using a musical narrative spanning over two decades to complete a generational coming-of-age crowning inside this iconic venue that has witnessed countless mass celebrations.

Given the National Stadium’s colossal scale and exceptional seating depth, the main PA system alone struggled to cover the rear seating areas far from the stage. Sound pressure attenuation over distance and direct-sound delay represent the two core acoustic design challenges for mega-stadium productions.

To ensure that every audience member in the remote stands enjoyed the exact same acoustic experience as those in the front rows of the inner floor, the audio team meticulously deployed eight groups of line array speakers from Reyn Audio as rear-fill systems for the back-of-house area during this concert.

Combining the architectural structure of the Bird’s Nest's rear stands with segmented listening-distance zoning, the deployment layout was as follows: Groups 1, 2, 7, and 8 featured RL2 (RAFALE2) line arrays, with 12 units per group; Groups 3, 4, 5, and 6 utilized hybrid arrays, each comprising 8 units of RL15 (RAFALE15) and 6 units of RL2 (RAFALE2). This differential array selection perfectly matched the acoustic coverage requirements of various zones in the rear stands. In total, the rear-fill sound system configuration consisted of 32 units of RL15 (RAFALE15) and 72 units of RL2 (RAFALE2).

The RL15 (RAFALE15) solidified the sound field foundation with its robust mid-low frequency energy and long-throw projection capabilities, while the RL2 (RAFALE2) supplemented distant details with its outstanding high-frequency penetration and delicate resolution. Working in tandem, the two systems extended the vocals to the deepest corners of the Bird’s Nest, eliminating coverage blind spots and sound field drop-offs.

The Galaxy as a Backdrop, Crowned in Light and Shadow

Beyond the waves of sound, the visual presentation was equally uncompromising. The stage lighting for the concert was powered entirely by ACME professional stage lighting fixtures, with multiple models performing their respective roles in concert to weave the brilliant night sky of the "City of Stars." The entire lighting system was deeply integrated with the "Chasing Stars" interactive ring setup and the pyramidal elevation system.

At explosive moments, intertwining beams of gold and red light erupted, blending with the glowing lightsticks waved by tens of thousands of fans to transform the entire Bird’s Nest into a boiling "City of Stars." Beams poured forth like a galaxy, and color washes flowed like shifting stars; every classic hit was paired with its own exclusive celestial imagery, etching the theme of "Galaxy Crowning" into the shared night-sky memory of nearly 100,000 people.
