As a large-scale indoor comprehensive venue featuring an open space, multi-tiered stands, and a deep longitudinal span, the Dalian Sports Center Gymnasium’s hard structures are prone to soundwave reflections and excessive reverberation. Wakin Chau’s repertoire boasts an extremely wide stylistic span, ranging from gentle, delicate narrative ballads and lingering, soothing melodic lines to high-energy chivalric anthems and solid rhythmic band accompaniments. Coupled with continuous, large-scale audience sing-alongs, this placed extreme demands on vocal clarity, mid-frequency transparency, solid low-end response, and overall sound pressure level (SPL) uniformity. This production adopted an integrated Reyn Audio professional sound reinforcement and ACME stage lighting solution, balancing acoustic fidelity with visual storytelling to create a fully immersive audiovisual experience for the audience.

The Dalian stop was equipped throughout with Reyn Audio’s professional performing arts sound reinforcement system. Based on the venue’s acoustic characteristics and performance styles, a dual-side symmetrical line array layout was implemented. Equipment was meticulously categorized into main reinforcement, side fills, flown subwoofers, ground-stacked subwoofers, front fills, stage monitors, and digital amplifier racks, achieving a dead-zone-free, unbiased, high-fidelity, and immersive sound field coverage across the entire venue.

In the early stages of the project, the technical team relied on the TURANDOT acoustic system platform to complete venue acoustic modeling and preview simulation. They pre-calculated speaker rigging angles, array layouts, and energy distribution, anticipated blind spots and reflection interference, and directly applied the optimized parameters to on-site tuning.

The main sound reinforcement system consisted of 28 units of RL15(RAFALE15) paired with 14 units of RL2(RAFALE2) line arrays. Leveraging the precise directivity control of the RL series, the main acoustic energy was efficiently projected to the floor seating area, mid-tier stands, and the furthest upper stands. This effectively suppressed scattered sound wave reflections and significantly improved long-distance listening attenuation in large venues, ensuring that seats near and far could clearly capture warm, delicate vocal details and instrumental textures.

For the side fill areas, 12 units of RL2 (RAFALE2) line arrays were deployed in Side-1, and 8 units of RL2(RAFALE2) line arrays were placed in Side-2. These precisely filled the acoustic blind spots on both sides of the venue, balanced the overall SPL variance, and eliminated hollow or weak sound levels at the edges of the stands. This ensured a natural transition and smooth integration of the sound field, achieving a uniform and balanced listening experience throughout the venue.

The low-frequency system adopted a dual-support scheme combining "flown array + ground stack": 12 units of GS218 (CANNON218) subwoofers were flown to provide a light and clean upper low-frequency atmosphere, while 30 units of GS218(CANNON218) subwoofer units were neatly stacked on the ground to solidify a rich and steady low-frequency foundation. Working together, the dual-tier low frequencies created a warm and lingering ambiance for ballads, while delivering crisp, powerful rhythms for rock and chivalric hits. The low-end was full without being boomy and layered without being muddy, maintaining a perfect separation from the vocal frequency band without mutual interference.

Eight units of RX12(COBRA12) front fill speakers were evenly distributed along the front edge of the stage, specifically optimized for the near-field listening area in the front rows of the floor seating. This resolved common issues in large venues such as near-field acoustic congestion, loss of detail, and listening discontinuities, granting front-row audiences an intimate, delicate, clear, and transparent immersive listening experience.

The stage monitoring system featured a comprehensive configuration, carrying a total of 13 units of M1(ABRAMS) stage main wedge monitors evenly distributed across various points on the stage. This allowed the singer and band to receive real-time, precise accompaniment and vocal feedback, enabling them to confidently control rhythm, pitch, and emotional progression, easily adapting to the stable performance of multi-style tracks throughout the night.

The entire system was stably driven by Reyn Audio professional amplifier racks RA1 and RA2, with all array units performing their respective duties and working in synergy. Whether it was healing vocals delivered with gentle narration or magnificent classic hits, the timbre restoration remained authentic, with clean and three-dimensional layers. Even with tens of thousands of people singing along in unison across the venue and surging sound waves overlapping, the vocals remained crystal clear and instruments distinct, completely avoiding muddy sound fields or frequency masking.

On the visual front, a complete set of ACME lighting equipment completed the stage's narrative expression, achieving synchronized linkage with the sound reinforcement field. High-CRI AECO 20 profile lights faithfully restored skin tones and textures, with warm and soft lighting effects suited for lyrical slow songs. CM 7 IP(HYPERZONE) moving head wash lights spread large-area ambient color tones, switching between cool and warm lighting atmospheres based on track emotions. TB 5 IP(TORNADO) multi-functional effect lights output versatile beam shapes, STROBE 3 IP (PIXEL LINE IP) pixel battens created flowing pixel lighting effects, and LED-BL8 (STAGE BLINDER P8) audience lights appropriately lit up the entire house, narrowing the distance between the singer and fans below. When performing chivalric tracks like "Sword and Dreams," the beams were sharp and expansive, while during the chorus of "Friends," soft light flooded the entire venue. Sound and light empowered each other, magnifying the era's emotion inherent in every classic hit.

When the familiar intro sounded, the coastal breeze carried the singing across the entire venue, with thousands of people singing along in waves. Reyn Audio, with its precise, delicate, and stable professional sound field, paired with ACME's narrative-driven lighting design, built the most sincere acoustic bridge between the artist and all the fans, allowing every classic piece that has accompanied several generations to echo in every corner of the venue in its most perfect posture.

From gentle ballads to chivalric boldness, from solo performances to massive audience choruses, Reyn Audio and ACME escorted the entire tour with high-specification audio-visual standards throughout. They used professional sound installations to anchor the golden hits of the years and used light and shadow to render the sentiment of an era, allowing the timeless voice of youth to linger and echo in the night sky of Dalian for a long time.
