On August 1–2, legendary Mandopop singer Emil Chau made a grand appearance at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. Night after night, classic melodies echoed across the Shanghai night sky as timeless hits like "Friends," "Flower Heart," and "Sword Like a Dream" were performed back-to-back, leaving the audience completely immersed in singing along and reliving their youth.

The immense crowd size and multi-layered musical styles put strict demands on the clarity, stability, dynamic range, and sound field uniformity of the stage reinforcement system. Throughout the Shanghai concert, Reyn Audio’s full suite of professional touring-grade reinforcement systems was deployed. With fine-tuned, high-fidelity acoustic configurations, it precisely restored Emil Chau's warm and translucent signature vocals, creating a zero-loss, highly immersive top-tier listening feast for the tens of thousands in attendance.
TURANDOT Acoustic Platform:
Restoring the True Essence of Music Through Technology
The full-venue reinforcement system relied on Reyn Audio’s self-developed TURANDOT acoustic system platform. Leveraging 3D modeling and sound field simulations tailored to the architectural acoustics of the Oriental Sports Center beforehand, it automatically generated optimal audio setting plans. From the gentle tenderness of "Crossing the Ocean to See You" to the deeply affectionate encore "Tomorrow I Will Marry You," TURANDOT ensured that every detail of Emil Chau’s music bloomed in just the right place.

Main PA:
Collaborative Integration of RL15 and RL2
To tackle the complex acoustic environment of the Oriental Sports Center, 28 RL15(RAFALE 15) and 10 RL2(RAFALE 2) line array speakers were flown on both sides of the stage.

The RL15(RAFALE 15) establishes a solid sonic foundation with robust mid-low frequency energy and long-throw capability, delivering the rich vocals and instrumentation of "Wind and Rain Without Regret" and "Love Follows You" to the mid-to-rear floor and main grandstand. Meanwhile, the RL2(RAFALE 2) provides exceptional high-frequency penetration and resolution, making delicate vocal runs and breath control in "Flower Heart" and "Makes Me Happy and Sad" crystal clear. Working in tandem, they form a wraparound, three-dimensional acoustic core for the 10,000-seat arena.

Low-Frequency Storm:
GS218 Constructing a Shocking Sonic Wall
The low-frequency system is the soul of live rhythm. This configuration utilized 12 flown GS218(CANNON 218) subwoofers and 30 ground-stacked GS218(CANNON 218) subwoofers, arranged in a cardioid directional layout to precisely release deep, impactful low-frequency energy.

Whether capturing the martial arts heroism of "Sword Like a Dream" or the majestic momentum of "The Sutra of Difficulties," the GS218(CANNON 218) injected powerful grooves into drums and bass that struck straight to the heart. At the same time, it effectively reduced low-frequency bleed onto the stage, enhancing overall sound field clarity and making every rhythmic burst clean, crisp, and full of power.
Omni-Directional Coverage:
Dead-Zone-Free Sound via Side-Fills and Front-Fills
To ensure a uniform and consistent sound field across the venue, two sets of side-fill systems were specifically deployed for the side grandstand areas: Side 1 featured 14 RL2 (RAFALE 2) units, and Side 2 featured 6 RL2 (RAFALE 2) line array speakers. They precisely compensated for sound attenuation in the side grandstand sections, allowing audiences in higher tiers to experience the same surging sonic waves as those on the floor.

At the front of the stage, 8 RX12(COBRA 12) high-performance three-way speakers served as front-fill speakers, specifically dedicated to reinforcing the sound field in the front-row area. From the tender murmurs of "Sleepless Night" to the heartfelt confessions of "A Boy," every single detail was right at hand and crystal clear.
Stage Monitoring:
Precision Feedback with M1
The "roundtable-style" performance setup placed extremely high demands on stage monitoring. A total of 13 M1(ABRAMS) high-performance two-way stage monitor speakers were deployed to provide a clear, balanced monitoring sound field for Emil Chau and his long-time collaborative bandmates.

Additionally, ACME stage lighting equipment was utilized to complement the performance, with lighting effects matching the emotional flow of the tracks to work seamlessly with the premium sound field, perfecting the overall audiovisual presentation.

As the final notes of "Friends" slowly faded, Reyn Audio utilized professional audio-visual technology to leave the clearest, warmest, and most shocking acoustic footnote for this "Singing Only for Myself" fantasy journey of a boy. Having traveled through thousands of mountains and rivers, returning as a youth—we look forward to the next journey where Reyn Audio continues to sail with sound, escorting every immortal musical voyage.
