Reyn Audio & ACME Power Jay Chou’s "Carnival II" Tour at the Bird's Nest

June 29, 2026

From June 26–28, 2026, Jay Chou’s "Carnival II" World Tour rocked the National Stadium (Bird's Nest) in Beijing for three consecutive nights. Featuring a brand-new, 360-degree immersive stage and a setlist of classic hits, the show delivered a spectacular audiovisual feast for tens of thousands of fans.

The open-air stadium posed severe acoustic and lighting challenges due to its massive size, long-distance sound propagation, and complex dome echoes. To overcome these hurdles, Reyn Audio (professional sound) and ACME (stage lighting)—both under Foshan YiFeng—provided full technical support, deploying top-tier equipment to ensure a flawless, immersive live experience.

Part 1: Audio | Reyn Audio’s Balanced Sound Field Tames the Massive Stadium

To tackle the Bird’s Nest’s notorious acoustic challenges, Reyn Audio utilized its proprietary TURANDOT acoustic system platform for advanced sound field modeling, path simulation, and dead-zone optimization. This effectively resolved issues like echoes, sound attenuation, and uneven coverage across the grandstands, achieving pristine, uniform audio quality from the front rows to the highest tiers.

Main PA System: Anchoring Core Audio Quality

8 × RL2 (RAFALE2) line arrays were deployed at the stage center, complemented by 18 × RL15 (RAFALE15) line arrays for the main coverage area. Leveraging advanced line array technology for long-throw, uniform dispersion, the system perfectly reproduced vocal and instrumental details. Even during massive sing-alongs, vocals remained crisp and well-layered.

Side Fills: 360-Degree Grandstand Coverage

To cover the stadium's wrap-around grandstands, side-fill arrays were deployed in tiers: 18 × RL15 (Side 1), 14 × RL15 (Side 2), and 8 × RL2 (Side 3). Precision angle tuning and multi-specification configurations eliminated sound pressure drops in distant side zones, creating a seamless, rich sound field.

Subwoofer Matrix: Powerful Low-End Punch

A dual-layer low-frequency architecture was implemented, combining a ground matrix of 72 × GS218 (CANNON218) subwoofers with flown arrays of 12 × GS218 units per side. Phase and directivity optimization focused the low-end energy, delivering hard-hitting beats for high-energy tracks and warm, atmospheric lows for ballads.

Front Fills & Delay Zones: Time-Aligned Uniformity

14 groups of RL2 (RAFALE2) front fills restored close-range details and eliminated auditory gaps near the stage. Concurrently, a three-tier delay system (Remote PA, Front, and Ring zones) calibrated with multiple RL15 and RL2 units precisely synchronized time alignment, preserving high-fidelity audio even at the furthest seats.

Stage Monitoring & Amplification: Rock-Solid Performance

The stage featured 24 × M1 (ABRAMS) stage monitors, 6 × RL3 (RAFALE3) line arrays, and 4 × FS3 (RAFALE3S) subwoofers, providing a low-latency, high-fidelity monitoring environment for the artists.

The entire system was driven by RA1/RA2 amplifier racks and R1/R2 digital power amplifiers, ensuring stable signal delivery and ultra-low distortion throughout the long outdoor shows.

Part 2: Lighting | ACME’s Dynamic Visuals Empower Multi-Themed Stage Atmospheres

ACME fully designed the concert's lighting rig, deploying a massive fleet of professional, IP-rated outdoor fixtures, including the AECO 30 IP, XL 500 BSW IP, XP 500 BEAM IP, TB 5 IP, CM 150 IP, TB 1060, BLB 10 IP, SL 100 IP, CM 7 IP, CM S2 IP, STROBE 7 IP, and STROBE 5 IP.

The lighting system was deeply integrated with the 360-degree stage and massive LED screens. It dynamically shifted rhythms across diverse genres—from emotional ballads and traditional Chinese styles to high-energy anthems—perfectly elevating the atmosphere during crowd interactions and breathing new visual life into classic hits.

Conclusion

Sound lays the foundation; light shapes the atmosphere.

Reyn Audio conquered the Bird’s Nest’s acoustic hurdles to deliver pure, uncompromised sound, while ACME illuminated the venue with intricate, dynamic visual design. This seamless audio-visual synergy successfully powered Jay Chou’s "Carnival II" Beijing stop, delivering a world-class, immersive live spectacle for tens of thousands of fans.
