Reyn Audio Provides Premium Sound Reinforcement for Jay Chou’s Carnival World Tour in Shanghai

October 24, 2025

From October 9 to 11, 2025, Jay Chou’s Carnival World Tour (Shanghai Station) concluded with great success at the Shanghai Stadium.

To address the substantial challenges of a large venue and uneven sound attenuation at Shanghai Stadium, the production utilized a complete, professional acoustic system from Reyn Audio throughout the entire event, successfully guaranteeing stable, high-quality audio across the venue.

TURANDOT Acoustic System Platform: As the central control system of the entire solution, it allows for 3D acoustic modeling and pre-optimization based on the venue's dome and multi-tiered seating structures, enabling the technical team to calibrate and commission optimal audio parameters well in advance.

Through strategic positioning and a combined deployment of diverse equipment categories, the production established a uniform, stable, and full-venue sound field covering the arena (field), stands, and far-field areas:

Main PA System: 40 RL1 (RAFALE1) line array loudspeakers were flown at the stage. Leveraging their precise coverage characteristics, they primarily covered the mid-to-rear arena and the front main stands, securing pristine sound quality for the core audience zones.

Low-Frequency System: Low-end reproduction was handled by RL1 SUB subwoofers. In front of the stage, 24 groups of RL1 SUBs were deployed in a cardioid configuration (three front-firing, one rear-firing) and combined with auxiliary subwoofers to enhance front-row low-frequency impact while minimizing bass leakage onto the stage. Directly above the front rows, 2 RL1 (RAFALE1) enclosures were used as front fills to eliminate coverage blind spots and balance the front-row audio response.

Flown Subwoofers: An additional 20 RL1 SUBs were flown alongside the main PA system. Working in tandem with the main arrays, they minimized phase discrepancies and optimized the rear-field response, achieving consistent SPL throughout the stadium.

Side Fills: Multiple groups of RL1 line arrays were deployed as side fills to cover the arena flanks, side stands, and upper balconies. This successfully eliminated acoustic gaps and resolved the common issue of weak side-field sound quality in large venues.

Delay Towers: For the far-field and upper stand tiers, several groups of RL1 delay speakers were installed across dedicated zones. They ensured that even distant spectators could clearly hear vocal nuances and instrument details.

Stage Monitoring: The M1 (ABRAMS1) stage monitors were selected for the performers. They significantly improved the on-stage listening environment, enabling the singer and musicians to hear their execution with absolute clarity, thereby enhancing the stability and completion of the overall performance.

Through the seamless synergy and integration of its full product line, Reyn Audio perfectly matched the rigorous demands of this large-scale venue, successfully delivering flawless sound reinforcement. Moving forward, Reyn Audio will continue to empower various mega-scale entertainment and live events with its professional acoustic equipment.
